The
film Avatar is an epic mythic hero's journey about human tendencies
that have been all too real right here on earth, e.g. exploitation,
greed, colonialism, consumerism, imperialism, environmental destruction,
war, terrorism, injustice, xenophobia, etc. I loved the spectacular
visuals in the film. I would live there tomorrow and be big, tall and
blue!
This plot driven story can be interpreted in many ways. ( Long long
ago the humans, or laggards,) which came from the sky in this movie
can represent the fallen angels in our scriptures, or …maybe the
more technically evolved visitors from our past that might have genetically
mutated us genetically, in order that we became their slaves. The fallen
angels that the bible talks about are after all the 'sons of God'. in
human form. Avatar to many means God in human form. Even the giants
that are mentions in the scriptures, could very well have been a pre-human
race that since have ascended from Planet Earth. So many interpretation
can be found in this Avatar story.
The film for me was like a nested puzzle with layers of meaning. On
one level it is a great love story with the most up to date special
effects possible, and although the film is long it flows so well that
the time flies by. On the other hand, the movie doesn’t distinguish
between the real and mythic.
The film is an incredible visual treat. I've never witnessed such complete
humanoid models moving so realistically, especially given their exposure
in both screen time and skin colour.
The incredible scenery of Pandora's landscape reminded me of our own
forests that breathe out life-giving oxygen for ourselves and all the
other animals to breathe in. The forests that absorb the carbon dioxide
that we are over-producing. The Na’vi are very much like our native
colonies on Earth who are also not technologically sophisticated, but
the way this movie shows us what it would be like to be very much in
tune with the planet and all of its creatures, is thought provoking.
Just as today when countries invade our neighbor's countries for reasons
that are very well reflected by this splendid movie. The negative forces
in the movie had no regard for to whom Pandora belonged, even calling
them "hostiles".
In the end all nations will become one, just as all on groups of people
on Pandoria came together due to the Avatar. Does that ring a bell?
To me it represented Christ consciousness, or our full awakening.
This is a movie that is indelible from our imagination; a beautiful,
creative film work of art that is a tribute to the world beyond our
imagination.
The movie made me feel proud to be human, since the people who made
this movie are after all HUMANS! NOT all of us
would destroy another planet due to the Illusion Of Need!
