Can nuts revitalise our brain?

As a result of research to back up my third novel Annelies' story "Vanishing Worlds" especially the topics of aging and rejuvenation, I've been guided to share some of this research in my newsletters.
It is most important during the next five years to be aware of the ways you can PROTECT your brain, your sense of self, your memory, and your personality from the ravages of time. I divided my prevention of aging, or my action to rejuvenate into three parts.

  • The first part is purely nutritional. Eat yourselves clean!
It is known that the reason we have better longevity now than we had a hundred years ago is not attributable to any of the medical advances - antibiotics, operations, cardiac bypass surgery, none of that - it's only attributable to advances in hygiene that we have made. There is enough evidence to say that whether we live long and are healthy or not is not any of the other aspects of medicine, but it is how we are dealing with parasites.

The foods we eat have a great impact on our system. Many of the meat products contain toxins, concentrated in the tissues since animal feed is often treated with chemicals.
Also, crops are treated with pesticides, which get into our system as soon as we eat them. That’s why it’s best to buy organic if at all possible. Forget the extra cost - you’re not buying it for better taste, you’re buying it for better health that has to last you for a lot more years when you are on an ascension journey.

Keep eating greens!

There’s been a marked reduction in fruit/vegetable intake, and that means the amount of natural anti-oxidants helping our bodies out has decreased. So build them up, and get eating!
Avoiding foods microwaved in plastic wrap,.. every step you take to avoid toxins will strengthen your immune system and make your body a less easy target for disease.

  • The second part is medicinal.

I'm not usually in favour of any form of medication, but when my daughter in the UK wrote how my grandchild's awareness levels were getting sharper by the day, and also about an article on Omega 3 fatty acids, I was immediately fascinated.

A test was done in the UK on children at a school who were given two capsules a day of the VegEPA supplement, which contains EPA, the omega-3 fatty acid. The children showed an increase in reading age of well over a year. Their handwriting got better, and they paid more attention in class.
Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to help prevent depression, as well as heart disease, arthritis, influenza, hyperactivity and even some forms of cancer.

These are famously found in fish oils. Fish contains DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) two essential fatty acids that have the strongest effect on the brain.
This could be because DHA is vital for developing brains in children. According to certain studies, people who eat an average of 180 mg or more a day of DHA, a fatty acid found in algae, have a lower incidence of Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia than people who eat less DHA.
If you’re not up for lashings of oily fish like mackerel, or cod liver oil tablets, then don’t worry. You can also get omega 3s through flaxseed oil and walnuts. I remember as a child being given malt and cod liver oil when the winter months were coming. No other reasons were known apart from cold prevention.

Brain scans identified a chemical called N- Acetylaspartate (NAA) which is linked to the growth of nerve fibres in the brain. This increased with the use of fish oils.... all widely available from your local health food shop.

Personally, I make sure I eat at least one portion of oily fish every week. I take fish oil tablets AND eat a good scoop of walnuts if I have them in the house.

Here’s another vital food for your brain

New research suggests that many of us are suffering from a folic acid deficiency... and this could be increasing the rates of mental decline.
Folic acid comes from ‘folates’, which are substances found in sprouts, spinach, and brewers’ yeast.
People these days don’t eat enough of this food. And even when you cook or process these foods, the levels of folic acid drop.
Here’s a quick explanation of why this is dangerous... Folic acid goes through a load of processes in your body and eventually becomes an active substance called methylfolate.
If this process isn’t carried out, the levels of methylfolate in your brain fall. This can lead to neuropsychiatric symptoms like dementia, insomnia, irritability, forgetfulness, depression, and even schizophrenia.

  • The third part is to change your lifestyle, if you have not already.
  1. Drink plenty of water, it helps you flush toxins.
  2. Focus on your breathing. Close your eyes and breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth slowly. Read POWAH's message on the breath.
  3. Buy unscented toiletries... even keep your car windows closed when you’re on the road...( the air you breathe is toxic!)Detox regularly

When grapes are in season I found it rather easy to go on a grape diet and just eat grapes for 3 days to clean out my system. The sugar in grapes helps you to avoid feeling week or hungry during the 3 days. I never go on a grape diet for a longer period..
Great detox foods include broccoli, cauliflower, onions, garlic, artichokes, beets, and red and green vegetables.

There are many more tips on changing our life style in order to physically survive the next five to thirteen years, but the most important of all is to WAKE UP!
